This marks yet another stage in Price Direct's inexorable rise to the pinnacle of Business to Business communication helping organisations develop long term successful customer relations. And a further step in the long career of John Price, adding to his already impressive list of business successes. John was involved in the project to develop trueCall from the outset, recognising immediately the potential and value to the public of this innovative, patented product.

The story began five years ago when John and Steve set up Brookmead Consulting to investigate the negative response to unwelcome telephone calls. They were surprised and horrified by the quantity of these calls and the level of distress caused by them.

John and Steve championed the campaign to halt silent calls and helped set up the Code of Practice used by the DMA. This has helped to reduce the negative effect that Business to Business telemarketing has suffered. It is now becoming revitalised and Business to Business telemarketing is once again taking its rightful place as an integral part of Business to Business communication.

Price Direct continues to conduct high quality Business to Business telemarketing campaigns.

Given our continued involvement in the Direct Marketing Association, we are in a perfect position to help the TAF with their awards.

A film directed by John Price to outline the story of telemarketing has been commissioned by the DMA and published at the TPS conference during the International Direct Marketing Fair.

As the driving force behind the project, John Price, chair of the DMA contact centre and telemarketing council, says: “We want to let members know what the DMA is doing in this area, encourage participation and support from the stakeholders and most importantly, ensure that more people apply the DMA code.”

This past year has seen many initiatives coming to fruition. John's Influence

This year sees John Price involved and influential in many aspects within the telemarketing field. John was elected to the DMA Advisory Council, the DMA Governance Committee and is currently Chair of the telemarketing Council. The Council has published The Telemarketing Manifesto, The Best Practice Guidelines, and Guidelines for the calculation of abandoned calls amongst other documents. With the publication of the Second Brookmead Report and with the launch of trueCall, John can justifiably lay claim to his position as the champion of better telemarketing and improvement of the industry.
